Host City Mexico City: The Soul of the World Cup

Beyond the stadium: We’re making history for the third time.

Host City Mexico City is the Organizing Committee in charge of the entire experience outside the stands. While the world watches the scoreboard, we energize the city. Mexico City will become the only host city in history to celebrate three World Cup opening matches (1970, 1986, and 2026). Our job is to design and operate the cultural, entertainment, and tourism offerings, ensuring that the global celebration resonates in every corner of the capital, not just during the 90 minutes of the game.

Our mission is to articulate the world's largest sporting event to spark real urban and social improvements in Mexico City. Host City's legacy seeks tangible results. On the social front, we spearheaded the restoration and improvement of 100 public soccer fields. Economically, we facilitated an estimated $600 million dollars in economic activity for the capital. Culturally, we built a unique historical archive in collaboration with Annie Leibovitz. When the trophy is gone, the revitalization and pride will remain here.
